Match report 17/12/2011: Ikast 2 vs Odense (Ikast win 10-3)

The final team match for Ikast 2 in 2011 worked out to be a top of the table clash with Odense.

The fixture was highly anticipated by Ikast and this showed when they got off to a great start, leading 3-1 after the first round of matches. Trine Jensen put in a valiant effort in her singles but went down in 3 close games, while both mixed doubles of Kasper Iversen/Maja Keren and Oliver Leydon-Davis/Katrine Kold  notched straight game wins. Pernille Eskildsen put a stop to a late comeback from her opponent to also put a point on the board for Ikast.

The good form continued into the Men’s Singles as the ever-reliable Milan Ludik put in a solid performance to beat Johnny Hast in 2 games, and Ikast picked up all four Men’s Singles with Victor Svendsen, Lasse Damm and Johan Ravn all recording victories.

Odense made a little fight back with 2 close victories in the Women’s Doubles but by then it was a case of too little too late, as Ikast took all 3 Men’s Doubles to put the icing on what was a great day with an emphatic 10-3 win and hold on to their top of the table spot.
